For businesses whose customers read Viber first

If you already hold mobile numbers with consent, order updates and reminders on Viber are more likely to be read than a text. Viber controls who may run chatbots and business messages, so the first step is confirming the route.

Limits we state plainly

  • Viber controls who may run chatbots and business messages. Access goes through Viber or its official partners and may need a commercial agreement. This is confirmed case by case before any build.
  • Promotional messages need prior consent, and customers can block a sender.
  • Viber and partner fees are separate from the build.
  • Mobile numbers and message content are personal data under the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Lists bought from third parties are not used.

Questions we get asked

How does a business get a Viber bot or business messages approved?

Through an application to Viber or an official Viber messaging partner. The route, any commercial terms and the approval steps are confirmed with you before a build is quoted.

What can a Viber chatbot send to customers?

Answers to questions customers ask, and, for business messages, approved transactional and promotional messages to numbers that have consented.

Does it work alongside Messenger and SMS?

Yes. Each channel is its own connection, scoped separately. SMS can act as a fallback when a Viber message is not delivered.

Can we message our whole customer list?

Only contacts who have consented. Promotional messages need prior consent, and customers can block the sender.
