What can be automated with Viber
Each row is a trigger and what follows it. Your project uses the rows that fit your process.
| When this happens | What the automation does |
|---|---|
| A customer messages a Viber chatbot | It answers and captures booking details |
| An order status changes or an appointment is near | A reminder goes out as a Viber business message to opted-in numbers |
| A new lead arrives | A staff alert is posted in a Viber group or bot |
| A Viber message is not delivered | It falls back to SMS |
| A promotional message with a button is sent | The reader lands on a booking page |
How Viber connects
A REST bot API with webhooks, and the Business Messages API, which is offered through Viber's official messaging partners.
- No native n8n node, Make app or Zapier app was confirmed. Connections use HTTP requests or the partner's own API.
What to know before starting with Viber
- The developer documentation states that since 5 Feb 2024 Viber bots can only be created on commercial terms, by applying to Viber or a verified official partner.
- Business Messages are obtained through official messaging partners. The sender approval steps are confirmed with the partner during scoping.
- Recipients must have opted in. The partner's guidelines are checked during scoping.
- Bots and business messages are billable by Viber or the partner.
No partner status with Viber or its vendor is claimed. Points marked as confirmed during scoping are checked against your own account before a build is quoted.
What we need for a Viber project
We need from you

How a project would be approached
- Review the Viber account, its plan and what access it allows
- Build and test the connection on a test account or test records first
- Staff approve the first live runs before the rest go live
- Written handover notes; the accounts stay yours
