NetSuite integration and automation around your ERP

Oracle NetSuite is a cloud ERP used by mid-size and larger companies and shared service centers. This page describes what can be automated around it, such as accounts payable and order entry, how the connection is made and what your NetSuite administrator controls.

What can be automated with NetSuite

Each row is a trigger and what follows it. Your project uses the rows that fit your process.

When this happensWhat the automation does
An ecommerce order is paidA sales order is created in NetSuite with the customer and items
A supplier invoice is received by emailThe fields are read, checked and created as a vendor bill for approval
A vendor bill needs approvalThe manager receives a chat message with a link to the record
A customer or item changes in the CRMThe matching NetSuite record is updated
A saved search runs on a scheduleThe results are exported to a dashboard or a sheet
A customer payment is recordedThe receivables list is updated and a reminder sequence stops
An invoice becomes overdueA reminder you approved is sent to the customer contact

How NetSuite connects

NetSuite offers SuiteTalk REST web services with OAuth 2.0 or token-based authentication. Oracle has published a retirement path for the older SOAP web services, so new work uses REST.

Connector support differs by tool and by plan, and no native n8n node is listed by n8n. The route for your account, whether a connector app or direct REST calls from n8n, is confirmed during scoping.

  • REST calls from n8n through its HTTP Request node
  • A Make app, subject to the Make plan
  • A Zapier app

What to know before starting with NetSuite

  • An integration needs an integration record and a role with the right permissions, set up by your NetSuite administrator.
  • The number of requests that can run at the same time depends on your account's licence. The figure for your account is confirmed during scoping.
  • How NetSuite notifies other systems of a change depends on your account setup and is confirmed during scoping. Scheduled checks are used where a change event is not available.
  • This is integration and automation around NetSuite. ERP implementation, licensing and accounting services come from Oracle or its implementation partners and your accountants.
  • Financial records are created as drafts or sent for approval. Staff approve before anything is posted.

No partner status with NetSuite or its vendor is claimed. Points marked as confirmed during scoping are checked against your own account before a build is quoted.

What we need for a NetSuite project

We need from you

  • A NetSuite administrator who can create the integration record and role
  • A sandbox or a test subsidiary, where your licence includes one
  • The records and approval rules involved
  • A finance owner who approves the first live runs

How a project would be approached

  • Review the NetSuite account, its plan and what access it allows
  • Build and test the connection on a test account or test records first
  • Staff approve the first live runs before the rest go live
  • Written handover notes; the accounts stay yours

Platform facts on this page come from the vendor pages below, last reviewed October 2026. Vendors change plans and rules, so details are re-checked during scoping.

Questions we get asked

What can be automated around NetSuite?

Order entry from ecommerce, vendor bill creation from documents, approval messages, record syncs with a CRM and scheduled exports to dashboards.

Can you automate accounts payable in NetSuite?

The steps before posting can be automated: reading the supplier invoice, checking it against your rules and creating a vendor bill for approval. A person approves before it is posted.

Are you a NetSuite partner or consultancy?

No partner status is claimed, and ERP implementation is outside this service. We build integrations and automations that connect to your existing NetSuite account.

What does NetSuite require before an integration goes live?

An integration record, a role with the right permissions and credentials issued by your administrator. Testing is done on a sandbox where your licence includes one.

Which fees apply on the NetSuite side?

Oracle bills your NetSuite licence. Whether a project needs any additional licence is a question for your Oracle account contact, and is raised during scoping.
